Republican Strategist Grover Norquist's Status Diminishing
Republican activist Grover Norquist laundered money from Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff through his organization to Republican Ralph Reed's lobbying firm so Reed's religious conservative base would not know he was working for Abramoff's casino clients. Along the way, Norquist extracted a fee for each money transfer, and apparently saw this as a money-making sideline.
Norquist's, Abramoff's and Reed's activities are well documented in the report of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs.
The result of all this is that Norquist's influence is waning. Although he is spinning like crazy, the truth is that Republicans are distancing themselves from him.
And Reed's candidacy for Lt. Governor of Georgia is not going as smoothly as he had hoped.
Let's hope Norquist, Reed and the rest of the corrupt Republican regime go away. America deserves better.
